The Kanoe extension strap is used to give additional distance between the hanging point and the hammock assembly. If the hammock is being used in a building with high ceilings or exposed beams the extension strap makes it possible for the Kanoe to be hung at the right height.
The strap is made from the same webbing that is used to suspend the hammock. If it is to be used to hang from the ceiling using the eye lags provided with the hammock the strap can be adjusted to be anything from 1 metre to 1.8 metres long. If it is to be used to place over an exposed beam the adjustment can give it a length of between approximately 45cm to 85cm depending on the width of the beam; and of course it can be wound around the exposed beam as many times as is necessary to shorten the overall length.
Each strap comes is made with a marine grade spring clip at each end (to attach to the hammock spring and the eye lag) and an adjustable slider. See pictures for further detail
