PACIFIERS

WARNING! For your child’s safety

Inspect carefully before each use. Pull the pacifier in all directions. Throw away at the first signs of damage or weakness. Never attach ribbons, strings, cords or similar products to a pacifier; they may strangle your child.

SAFETY ADVICE

  • Do not leave the pacifier in direct sunlight or near a source of heat
  • Do not leave the pacifier in disinfectant (“sterilising solution”) for longer than recommended, as this may weaken the teat.
  • In the event that the pacifier becomes lodged in the mouth, DO NOT PANIC; the pacifier is constructed so that it cannot be swallowed, and it is designed to cope with such an event. Remove from the mouth with care, as gently as possible. Do not pull pacifier apart.
  • Check that the pacifier is in good condition before each use. This can be done by pulling on the various parts of the pacifier and checking that it is still in good condition. If there are splits or changes in the pacifier, it should be discarded.

CLEANING

Before you use the pacifier for the first time thoroughly clean then sterilize it by either:

a) Immersing the pacifier in a baby-­‐bottle sterilizing solution in accordance with the instructions for use of the sterilizing solution; or

b) Boiling the pacifier in water for 5 minutes before it is used for the first time. Then let it cool down and empty out any water inside the teat.

  • Liquid will flow into the pacifier teat when you are cleaning it. Please turn the pacifier upside down and remove any water from the teat before use.
  • Always clean the pacifier before use and check that the teat is undamaged.
  • Do not dip the teat into medicine or into any sweet products (particularly those containing sugar), as this can lead to the development of cavities and tooth decay.
  • For both safety and hygiene reasons, the pacifier should be discarded after a maximum of 2 months.
  • The pacifier should be cleaned by hand or in a specially designed machine and must not be cleaned in a microwave or dishwasher.
  • When the pacifier is not in use, it should be kept in a clean, dry place out of direct sunlight or contact with a source of direct heat.
  • The pacifier should be stored in a closed, clean and dry container.

  • Very few children are allergic to natural rubber; however, watch out for any allergic reaction, and stop the pacifier if this should occur.

BOTTLES

CLEANING

Before you use Hevea’s glass baby bottles for the first time, please wash the bottle in a sterilizing solution, dishwasher or in boiling water for 5 minutes.

MAINTENANCE AND USE

  • The baby bottle can be used with teats adapted to the baby’s growth.
  • Irregular lines can appear on the surface of the bottle, which is normal and shall not be defined as a quality problem.
  • Please check the bottle and its accessories before each use. Please change the bottle and use a new one if it looks broken or cracked.
  • Glass baby bottles are inherently fragile. To prevent any injuries if the bottle drops, do not let your baby hold the bottle unaided.
  • When the baby feeding bottle is broken, the broken glass and its sharp sides may cause damage so always use this product under adult supervision.
  • The baby bottle can be heated up in a bottle warmer.
  • Do not heat up the milk, or water for the powdered milk, in the microwave as this could make the contents heat up unevenly.
  • Always check the temperature of the liquid before feeding your baby to make sure it isn’t too hot.
  • When shaken, the pressure inside the bottle may go up and cause the liquid to leak. Loosen the screw top to allow the pressure to reduce.
  • Thermal shock can cause the bottle to shatter if the difference between the room temperature and the temperature of the liquid inside is too great.
  • Use water to cool the feeding bottle.
  • There are gradations on the outside of the feeding bottle but if more accurate measurements are needed, please use measuring cup or measuring spoon.

BOTTLE TEATS

CLEANING

  • Before you use the teat for the first time, immerse it in boiling water for 5 minutes.
  • Clean the teat before each subsequent use with warm water.
  • For babies up to 3 months, disinfect the teat regularly, either by boiling it or using a suitable steriliser.
  • If you are boiling the water, make sure there is always enough water in the pot so the teat is well covered.
  • Do not boil the teat in a pressure cooker.
  • Do not clean it in a dishwasher or disinfect it in a microwave as the detergents heated in the microwave could damage the material.
  • After cleaning make sure that no water is left inside the teat.

ASSEMBLY

Ventilated teat: The valve in the Hevea bottle teat equalises the pressure in the bottle, allowing your baby to drink comfortably and continuously. When assembling the bottle, tighten the ring securely, but do not squeeze the flange or valve too much. Do not over tighten the ring as this will damage the thread and cause the bottle to leak

MAINTENANCE AND USE

  • Inspect teat before each use by pulling it in all directions.
  • The teat should be replaced every 1-­2 months or as soon as it shows any signs of wear and tear.
  • Be aware that when teething, babies can tear the teats.
  • Never use feeding teats as a pacifier/teether.
  • It is necessary to check the teat frequently to make sure it isn’t blocked.
  • Continuous and prolonged sucking of fluids will cause tooth decay.
  • Do not leave the teat in direct sunlight or heat
  • Do not leave the teat in disinfectant/steriliser for longer than recommended ­‐ it may weaken the teat.
  • Throw away at the first signs of damage, wear or tear.

Keep all components not in use out of the reach of children (feeding teat, or sealing disc might be swallowed and are choking hazards). Accidents have occurred when babies have been left alone with drinking equipment due to the baby falling or if the product has disassembled.

Tooth decay in young children can occur even when non‐sweetened fluids are used. This can occur if the baby is allowed to use the bottle for long periods through the day and particularly through the night, when saliva flow is reduced or if it is used as a soother. Never use the teats as a pacifier/soother.

Heating food in a microwave may produce localised high temperatures, so it is recommended not to do so. Always stir heated food to ensure even heat distribution and test the temperature before serving.

TEETHER TOYS

CLEANING

  • The teether can be cleaned in boiling water or in a suitable sterliser
  • The teether should not be cleaned in a dishwasher or microwave. 

MAINTENANCE AND USE

  • Inspect teether regularly to make sure it is in good condition.
  • Do not freeze the teether

PLACE MATS

CLEANING

  • Before using for the first time, please rinse with hot water.
  • Can be cleaned in the top rack of the dishwasher (50°)

BATH MATS

CLEANING

  • Before using for the first time, please rinse with hot water.
  • Foaming bath products and shower gels should be rinsed off thoroughly
  • Leave to dry thoroughly to avoid mould forming

MAINTENANCE AND USE

  • To ensure that the mat stays firmly in place, it must be no bigger than the shower tray or bath in which it will be used.
  • Once the bath is filled, position and place the mat securely by pressing down firmly on the suction pads.
  • Ensure mat is attached securely before entering tub
  • Never leave the bath mat in the tub as this may result in damage to the coating.

BATH TOYS

CLEANING

  • The bath toys should be cleaned by hand or in a suitable sterilising machine.
  • The bath toys should not be washed in a dishwasher.
  • For a more natural approach to cleaning your bath toys, use vinegar. Mix four parts white vinegar to one part warm water. Submerge the toys completely or apply the solution to each toy with a sponge.

MAINTENANCE AND USE

  • Check daily or before use that the bath toys are in good condition. Do this by pulling the various parts of the toy and checking there are no tears.
  • If there are splits or changes in the toy, it should be discarded.
  • Dry the toy thoroughly after use to avoid mould forming.
  • When not in use keep the bath toy in a dry environment away from direct sunlight and heat.

NATURAL RUBBER STAR BALLS

CLEANING

  • The ball can be sterilized in boiled water for a maximum of one minute or cleaned in warm water and mild soap if needed.

MAINTENANCE AND USE

  • The ball should be kept in a clean, dry place out of direct sunlight or a source or direct heat.
